Salzburg has a quaint, charming, small-town feel with all the amenities of a modern, industrial city. On warm days, students enjoy lounging by the Salzach River, strolling through the streets of the Old City, and enjoying one of the many public parks.
In the summer, students can swim at one of the many beautiful lakes. Sports and other activities are available through the University of Salzburg. During the winter, Salzburg is within a short commute to several world class ski-areas where students can experience some of the finest downhill and cross country skiing.
At the beginning of 2014 Salzburg College moved to its new location in the KunstQuartier (ArtQuarter) on Bergstrasse in the heart of Salzburg's Old Town.
The core building itself dates back to the 15th century and was originally utilized for various purposes. Beginning in 1802 the building housed the Salzburger Druckerei (Salzburg Press) for over 200 years. The last printing machine was dissembled in 2008 after 200 years in operation.

In addition to our own recital hall and private atrium, our study center offers the following amenities: class rooms, multi-functional hall, art studio, dark room, library, study space, spacious lounge and music practice rooms.
You will find the university library, the Mozart Archives, museum and galleries in easy walking distance. The green grocers' market, coffee shops, local eateries, bookstores, boutiques, pastry shops and bakeries are all just steps away from the College's downtown location.
The Old City, as well as all of Salzburg, is an extended campus. Students go on many excursions throughout the city to places such as the Panorama Museum, Fortress Hohensalzburg, Hellbrunn Palace and the "trick fountains", Winklhof Agricultural School, Open Air Museum, and other places of interest.
Salzburg also has an extremely efficient public transportation system which makes getting around the city very easy. Even though there is an extensive bus network, most Austrians prefer to move around the city by bike.
Bike rentals are available to students at a discounted price and provide an excellent alternative to taking the bus.
My experience in Austria has changed my life. I’ve grown so much here personally, academically, and socially thanks to so many amazing people I have had the privilege to get to know. If I ever have the chance to come back to Austria I will be back in a heartbeat.
